Peptoids
Peptides are short sequences of amino acids that can have specificity for target proteins and, thus, facilitate putative control of specific responses. A limit to their potential is the bodies capacity to remove them through endogenous protease activity. Chemical modification of peptides to form 'peptoids', enhances their stability and consequent biological function. Together with Medicinal Chemist, Dr. C Coxon, we are identifying candidate peptoids and testing their cell permeability and toxicity profiles.
